Praise the LORD! Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever! Who can utter the mighty deeds of the LORD, or declare all his praise? Blessed are they who observe justice, who do righteousness at all times! (Psalm 106:1-3)
As I began my study of (Psalm 106) this morning, the opening words of (v 1) remind me of a praise song we have sung during praise and worship time at church, “Forever God is faithful, forever God is strong, forever God is with us; His love endures forever.
As the psalmist penned (Psalm 106), he recalled events from Israel’s past to illustrate God’s steadfast love amid Israel’s rebellion and unfaithfulness. Moreover, as we read (Psalm 106:1-12), we are reminded that while all sin has its consequences and must be dealt with, God continues to extend His mercy to us even though we have unconfessed sin in our lives. Who of us could claim to be as faithful as God? Quite frankly, many of us (myself included) have a short fuse when it comes to writing people off that have repeatedly turned on us; not our God; His mercy endures forever.
Friends, as I break down (Psalm 106) in the next couple of days of Thought Post, we will see together how God’s favored people Israel repeatedly rebelled (or sinned) against God, yet He remained faithful to them. Would you pray with me?
Father, I am overwhelmed by Your love for me. You have stepped toward me and offered Your perfect love even though I do not deserve it. You have called me Your child and embraced me as Your own. Knowing that I am Yours removes all my fear of eternity and brings peace to my soul. Help me to live today knowing that I am fully secure in Your perfect love. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen!
God Bless and have a Blessed Day, Friends <><
