Arriving in The Dominican Republic – a Bridge Mission Team Update

The Bridge Mission Team is on the ground! An entire team landed in The Dominican Republic to meet our Partner, The Crossover CUPS Mission. Thirty-eight fifty pound suitcases filled with donations to benefit the people of La Union Abajo were carried down by the group.

The team will be busy going to the sewing centers and the new bakery which are trades CUPS teaches to at-risk kids providing resources to keep them off of the streets. The local children will learn to bake bread, cupcakes, cookies, and other items which can be sold in the village to benefit the mission.

The impact to these villages will be felt for generations. The Dominican Republic is fourth in the world for hHuman trafficking. If the children are not taught a skill to provide for their families, they will end up a victim of the poverty which plagues the region.
