On March 1, the Greenwood Library is launching registration for Neighborly Notes, an intergenerational pen pal program. The program is open to all seniors, plus all children and teens ages 5 – 18 years old. Once registered, each participant will be paired with a pen pal from the other generation – a senior adult with a child or teen. Starting March 8, each pen pal will receive a kit with stationery and postage plus the address of their new friend. Letters, notes and cards can be exchanged as often as you like. Members of the library staff will check in with the participants periodically to make sure all is going smoothly and to provide further supplies if needed. To register, please visit the library calendar on our website, www.greenwood.lib.de.us, or call 349-5309. Registrations will close on March 20. The program will officially end on May 22 with a meet and greet in person if possible, but pen pals are free to carry on the correspondence as long as they wish.

Join us on Saturday, March 6th at 10:00 am in for our final children’s music class with All Around this World! What better way to have fun than with singing, dancing, and celebrating cultures from around the world.
All Around This World is a unique, interactive global music and world cultures program for children 0-9 years old that encourages children and their families to explore the world by enjoying global music, rhythms and movement. Jay Sand, guitarist and children’s music teacher, world traveler and dad of three girls developed All Around This World with his girls as a way to introduce them to the countries he’s already visited and the many more he plans to visit with them. Through dynamic online classes, recordings, and participatory parent-child music-making, Jay hopes to make the world a bit smaller one song at a time.
