Cape Henlopen State Park Campground

Swim in the ocean waves, bike through the sand dunes, fish from the Bayside fishing pier, camp beside historical WWII towers, and explore all 7,000 acres of Cape Henlopen State Park! Located at the point where the Delaware Bay meets the Atlantic Ocean, Cape Henlopen offers a unique combination of natural wonders and cultural history. Discover the beauty and natural diversity of Cape Henlopen’s coastal environment encompassed by ocean and bay beaches, maritime forests, and tidal salt marshes. During your stay, be sure to visit Fort Miles, a WWII military base that now features the Fort Miles Museum, Artillery Park, and Battery 519 tours. With excellent wildlife-watching, stunning scenery, world-class beaches, and year-round historical and environmental programming, there are endless adventures to discover at Cape Henlopen!

The newly renovated campground offers water, 50 amp electric hook-ups, new fire rings and picnic tables, a new and improved vehicle circulation pattern, camp store, laundry facility, pull through sites, walk-in tent sites, play area, additional dump stations, a renovated registration booth and expanded overflow parking area. In addition to camping at the family campground, Cape Henlopen also has overnight dormitory-style accommodations and primitive camping for youth groups as well as the Former Officers Club available for private events.

Delaware Seashore State Park Campground

Welcome to Delaware Seashore State Park, one of the state’s most popular destinations. The park offers stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean to the east, and Rehoboth and Indian River Bays to the west. Set up camp beside the iconic Indian River Inlet Bridge, only a short walk from the beach. Grab a delicious bite to eat with an amazing view at our 2 on-site restaurants: Hammerheads and The Big Chill Beach Club. The Indian River Marina is a full-service marina offering charter boat experiences and excellent fishing opportunities.

During your stay, be sure to visit the Indian River Life-Saving Station, a historic station built in 1876 for use by the United States Lifesaving Service to respond to the alarming number of shipwrecks along the coast. Today, the Life-Saving Station has been restored to its 1905 appearance, doubles as the park’s visitor center, and offers tours and year-round programming.

Delaware Seashore State Park campground boasts 151 RV sites, 94 standard campsites without hook-ups; and 37 tent camping only sites. With excellent fishing spots, pristine beaches, and more, Delaware Seashore is a perfect destination for a seaside getaway.

Hookups: All RV have 3-point hookups. 30 and 50 amps both available at all RV sites. 4 standard sites with electric-standard sites only have electric ( 20 and 30 amp).

Lums Pond State Park Campground

Endless adventures await at Lums Pond State Park, Delaware’s largest freshwater millpond. Kayak through the pond’s sparkling waters, hike through more than 12 miles of trails, fish from the water’s edge, or take your dog to enjoy the off-leash dog park. Visit the nature center to meet some local animals and sign up for one of our year-round interpretive programs. See the park from a new perspective and take your spirit of adventure to the next level on the Go Ape Treetop Adventure Course. This exciting course navigates through the hardwood forest, and even across the pond using high ropes, trapezes, and 5 Zip lines that will take you flying through the trees. The newly-renovated Lums Pond campground now features electric, water and sewer hook-ups. Lums Pond offers a new adventure for everyone; book your stay today!

Killens Pond State Park Campground

Camp beneath a forest of hardwoods and pines at Killens Pond State Park, a beautiful 66-acre millpond located in the heart of central Delaware. The pond dates back to the 1700s, and is home to largemouth bass, catfish, bluegills, turtles, and more. Explore the woodland trails, grassy fields, disc golf course, game courts, ball fields, picnic areas, and the nature center with year-round programming. Make a splash in the Killen’s Ponds newly renovated Water Park, complete with two 54-ft high speed slides, two 54-ft spiral slides, a zero-depth entrance pool, a tot pool, and sand volleyball courts!

The Killens Pond Campground is open year-round, and boasts 59 sites which feature electric and water hookups, accommodating both tents and recreational vehicles. A primitive camping loop for tents only contains 17 walk-in sites. Family camping cabins are also available, and the deluxe Pond View Cottage offers outstanding pond views.

Trap Pond State Park Campground

Transport yourself to the enchanting forest world of Trap Pond State Park while camping beside the northernmost natural grove of baldcypress trees on the east coast! Spend the day hiking, biking, or fishing throughout the park, or enjoy a relaxing pontoon tour of the pond. Take out a kayak or canoe and paddle among the ancient baldcypress swamp to discover native birds, turtles, wildflowers, and other incredible species. Listen to the crackling of a campfire and gaze at the stars from beneath a towering canopy of hardwoods and loblolly pines.

The Trap Pond Campground contains 142 campsites on the pond’s northern shore. 130 of the sites are equipped with water and electric hookups. Two primitive camping areas are also available for youth groups by reservation only. Rustic 2-room camping cabins located next to the water offer a cozy family getaway. Our yurts, stationary structures with canvas walls, allow for a fun and easy alternative to pitching a tent yourself, but still allow you to experience the rustic feel of camping outdoors

Contest Specific Rules:

  • GRAND PRIZE: One Grand Prize will be drawn and awarded. The Grand Prize Winner will receive three (3) nights camping at the Delaware State Park Campground of their choice to be used between October 2, 2020 and April 30, 2021; and a swag bag from Delaware State Parks and The Bridge.
  • Each individual may only enter the contest once. A unique email address, and selection of the contestant’s ‘Favorite Campground,’ are both required to create a valid entry.
  • No purchase necessary to enter. No prize substitution available.
