You Are Loved

How would you describe the taste of a tomato to someone who has never eaten a tomato?

It’s pretty hard to come up with words that describe what a tomato tastes like. Whether it’s because they are unique or because there just aren’t any words that capture the essence, we just come up short.

I think the same can be said about describing love. Especially the love of a parent towards their children.

My definition and depth of love changed dramatically when I held my first child. I told him I loved him, and he didn’t respond. Maybe because he was less than 2 minutes old! That was over 3 decades ago, and I still love him and all of my children more than I can describe.

I believe that experiencing love from the giving side – whether you have children or not – is the only way we can even partially grasp love from the receiving side. Especially when it comes from our heavenly father.

The fact is, God loves you so much that He sent His only Son to die for you and to give you eternal life!

If you are like me, some days you may not feel very loved. Fortunately, it doesn’t matter how you feel because you are loved even when you don’t feel like it.

One of our main objectives here at 88.7 The Bridge is to remind people that they are loved.

We do it with words, of course, but largely through music. It’s pretty amazing how many creative ways our artists have come up with to convey Christ’s love to our listeners.

The other main way we let people know they are loved is by being present in our communities. Thousands of people see the love of Christ as our listeners paint and rake and scrub during the Hands & Feet project each fall. Or through the Love Worth Sharing initiatives that have so far focused on the drug epidemic and the needs of the homeless in our area.

Christ’s love is also shared at our concerts, seminars, our participation in festivals and fairs, and even online via the Prayer Works Facebook group.

The only way we’ve been able to reach tens of thousands of people every single week to let them know they are loved is because of your financial support of this non-profit ministry. And we are so grateful!

Love is better caught than taught, and when you share your resources with 88.7 The Bridge you are sharing your love of Christ with others in our community who need to hear that Jesus loves them.

Whether it’s the right song at the right time, or it’s a special word or prayer offered on the air or online, God is using The Bridge to reach people. Many of them don’t go to church or have a relationship with Jesus yet. But often they are looking for love, and they know The Bridge is a safe place to find it.

God has provided the means for us to grow in the past year, and to reach even more of Delmarva.

Thank you for your financial support that allowed that to happen. With increased signals and opportunities comes increased expenses, and today I’d like to ask you to help us meet those needs with a generous, tax-deductible gift towards our operational budget as we prepare for our annual Spring Fundraiser.

Every dollar you give online will be placed in a challenge fund to be used during fundraiser to encourage others to give. In effect, your money will be doubled as it encourages others to get involved. Will you please help us by giving before April 9th? Our spring fundraiser will take place April 17, 18 and 19th!

The Bible talks about the importance of planting in good soil. We believe the ministry of 88.7 The Bridge is good soil. God will provide the harvest, as only He can, but we need your help in planting more seeds for an abundant harvest!

Perhaps we can’t describe what tomatoes taste like, but we love talking about the life-changing love of Jesus on the air and online every day, 24/7, to tens of thousands of people who need to hear it.

Thanks for helping us do that.

Sincerely,

Bill Sammons
